A large amount of drugs weighing 375 kg, which were hidden in a truck stolen from Attica, was confiscated by police from the Ioannina Security Subdivision at noon on Wednesday (February 11) in Miliotades, East Zagori. , Janina, and then followed by two arrests.
In particular, after a coordinated operation, the police discovered a small truck driven by an Albanian citizen, and during the inspection, 85 packages of raw cannabis with a total weight of 374 kg and 850 grams were found and confiscated.
As it turned out, the truck was stolen in July 2020 from the Attica region.
In addition, 13 kilometers after Miliotades, in the village of Anthrakitis, another car was found, driven by a 60-year-old man from Ioannina, who acted as a courier to avoid police control while transporting drugs.
In addition to drugs, five mobile phones, 390 euros and two cars were confiscated from the detainees.
Those arrested will be brought before the public prosecutor Plimmeliodika Ioannina and will be prosecuted for violating drug laws.
