
The DIICOT Prosecutor’s Office arrested three people after they grew cannabis on a plot of land in Piatra Neamc, harvested it in October and stored it to sell drugs to users in the counties of Niamc and Cluj.
The Office for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) sent on Saturday in a press release that DIICOT Niamt prosecutors, together with police officers of the Niamt Organized Crime Service, conducted three searches in Piatra on Friday Niamt in a case related to trafficking dangerous drugs.
“In the case, it was stated that during 2022, the three defendants created and maintained an outdoor cannabis culture on a wasteland in Pyatra Neamts. During October, the three defendants collected crops and stored them in a building in the city of Dobren to sell high-risk drugs to consumers in the districts of Niamc and Cluj,” the press release states.
The cited source noted that eight kilograms of cannabis were discovered and seized during the searches in the case.
Three people were detained for 24 hours, Agerpres reports.
