In a new speech, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Russia wants the Kherson region to become an “exclusion zone”, saying that the occupiers are “destroying the health care system” in the territory they occupy, News.ro reports.
Zelensky noted that Russia, although it claims to have stopped mobilizing, may soon need a “new wave” of mobilized people to get to the front.
He also said that he discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni. In addition, Zelensky thanked the USA and Canada for their assistance to Ukraine.
Zelensky noted that the Russians are turning Kherson into an uncivilized territory. He asked Ukrainians living in the occupied territories to help each other and not give in.
“The occupiers came with a new challenge – to the occupied territory. They are destroying the entire health care system there. The occupiers decided to close medical institutions in the cities, take away equipment, ambulances, everything… They put pressure on the doctors who remained in the occupied territories to go to Russia.
First of all, this is the Kherson region. Russia is turning the Kherson region into a territory without civilization, without elementary things available in most countries of the world. Before the arrival of Russia, this region, like other regions of Ukraine, was absolutely normal and safe, all social services were guaranteed there… Life was guaranteed there.
And now Russia is practically trying to make the Kherson region an exclusion zone. The world must respond. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all our representatives inform international organizations and partners about this move by the occupiers.
Currently, Zelensky appealed to all Ukrainians in these occupied cities and districts: “please do everything to help each other, despite the actions of the occupiers. The flag of Ukraine will return. We will return to normal life. But we must resist,” he said.
