Insiders and fans of Patek Philippe watches were shocked and horrified in February 2021 when Thierry Stern, a stalwart of the Swiss manufacturer, surprised everyone by announcing the end of production of the Nautilus 5711 steel, by far the brand’s most sought-after timepiece in the world. This resulted in its secondary market price skyrocketing, record prices being set at auctions, and collectors on the brink of a nervous breakdown trying to get their hands on such a model for their collection. Fortunately, we have good news. Patek has just released eight new models, four of which pay homage to the iconic Nautilus and one is the successor to the legendary Ref. 5711. Only in this case it is not made of steel, but of white gold.

Nautilus 5811/1G-001 41mm

In addition to the other construction material, the case of the new watch is one millimeter larger than that of the 5711 (41 mm) and is a one-piece case. Water-resistant to a depth of 120 meters, it is paired with a new blue gradient dial that turns black around the periphery and wraps around the wrist in a white gold bracelet equipped with several technical improvements and patents, such as a folding safety clasp and a new micro-adjustment system that can be locked out.

The other three new Nautilus are also of great interest. Ref. 590/1A-011 because it combines a chronograph with a flyback function and practical travel times. Ref. 5712/1R-001 because it has an analogue date, moon phases and a power reserve indicator. And ref. 7118/1300R-001 Joaillerie for the exquisite coloring of gemstones.

Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1A-011

This is one of the few Patek Philippe steel watches. It features a new blue gradient dial that turns blue in the center and fades to black at the periphery.

Its automatic movement CH 28-520 C FUS combines three practical and extremely convenient complex functions: a chronograph with a flyback function, a travel time function (two time zones with two independent hands, of which the skeleton shows home time) and an analog date on 12 hours. which is synchronized with local time.

Nautilus Date Moon Phases Power Reserve 5712/1R-001 Watch

Here we have a new version of the famous Nautilus Ref. 5712/1R-001 with analog date, moon phases and power reserve, rose gold case and bracelet, brown gradient dial with black minute track.

Despite the many indications, their wise placement on the dial ensures absolute legibility and clarity. The iconic Nautilus design is accentuated by alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces on the case, octagonal bezel and bracelet.

Nautilus Women’s 7118/1300R-001

Like expensive aged cognac, this women’s jewelery watch combines the elegance of rose gold with the warm tones of precious stones. Its octagonal bezel features 68 baguette-cut garnets in shades ranging from light champagne to deep reddish cognac.

The hour markers on the dial are made of maroon garnets, which contrast perfectly with the rose gold.

As well as four timers

The other four new models launched by Patek Philippe are chronographs, each one unique. Three of them are of high difficulty, and the fourth is adorned with rainbow-colored gems. Let’s get to know them…

Left handed chronograph 5373P-001

Patek Philippe’s first left-handed chronograph in modern history features an unusual arrangement of pushers and indications on the dial. It has a platinum case that houses the CHR-27-525 PS Q winding movement, the finest perpetual calendar chronograph movement ever made.

The watch has a sporty aesthetic with a grey/black gradient dial and small red accents on the chronograph hands and strap stitching. It appears to be an exclusive limited edition model for lefties and select collectors.

Split Second Chronograph Perpetual Calendar 5204G-001

Here, Patek Philippe reimagines one of its classics by pairing a white gold case with a gradient olive green dial.

It is a rattrapante perpetual calendar chronograph, equipped with the CHR 29-535 PS Q caliber, traditional winding architecture and seven patented technological innovations.

World Time Flyback Chronograph 5935A-001

This is the first steel version of the iconic Patek Philippe timepiece with a sporty and retro aesthetic. A modern, dynamic spirit is highlighted by the distinctive carbon fiber pattern at the center of the rose gold-plated opal dial.

The world clock function shows the time in 24 time zones around the world at the same time. And it does this thanks to an exclusive patented mechanism that corrects all indications from a single button to 10. The watch is equipped with two leather straps: gray-beige and beige with nubuck trim.

Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” 7968/300R-001

Finally, we left the sporty sparkling chronograph, which is also the first automatic women’s chronograph created by Patek Philippe in the sporty-chic Aquanaut Luce collection. The name “Rainbow” appears to refer to the double row of diamonds and multicolored baguette-cut sapphires that decorate the bezel and dial of the watch in all shades of the rainbow.

The watch is available with three high-strength embossed straps in red, matte beige and matte white.
