
They were detained as part of a spontaneous proceeding by police officers of the “Immediate Action” and the OPKE. from the Attica Security Authority, three citizens (two 23-year-olds and a 37-year-old) for outstanding consecutive thefts and adultery.
Shortly before that, in the evening hours of Sunday (16.10), they tried to enter a private house in Payan, but they were noticed, got into a car and disappeared.
The police officers of immediate action after the searches managed to find the car in the area of Gerakas. The police called the driver of the vehicle to stop the vehicle, but the passengers did not follow the instructions and a chase ensued.
After stopping the car, the four passengers got out and fled. Following them on foot, they managed to immobilize two of them at the scene, and the 37-year-old man was found the next day in Acharnes.
As it was established, the rear number plate of the car was stolen on 10/16/2022. The defendants were taken to the Paania Security Department and after preliminary investigation they were found guilty of five more cases of thefts from houses in the Paania area.
As to their modus operandi, the defendants broke into houses by breaking balcony doors and took money, jewelry and clothes.
The detainees were taken to the district attorney of Athens, the investigation to identify their accomplice continues.
