
As of January 18, 2023, the trial of murder of 19-year-old Alkis Campanu with 12 accused youths, all already temporarily held in prisons.
Following the rejection by the Supreme Court of a request from the family of a 19-year-old to hold a trial in Athens for security reasons, the Thessaloniki Prosecutor’s Office of Appeal decided to hold the trial in a few days before the completion of one year after the bloody attack (02/01/2022) with fan characteristics.
The 12 defendants were prosecuted for manslaughter, committed (in the case of a 19-year-old) and attempted (in the case of one of his wounded friends), jointly, as well as assault and possession of objects capable of causing bodily harm, with aggravating provisions Law on sports, illegal possession of weapons and the use of weapons.
In addition, one of them is accused of attempted murder in the case of the second wounded young man, a friend of the victim, and the remaining 11 as mere accomplices in this act.
