The Romanian Football Federation announced on Friday that the VAR (video refereeing) system will also be used in some Romanian Cup matches, starting with the first group stage.
This system will benefit from games where Super League teams will meet. At the same time, the selection of matches for the Romanian Cup will also take into account the infrastructure of the stadiums. Also, given that there are three VAR machines, this is the maximum number of matches that can be played in one day in Romania with the VAR system.
Parties that will benefit from VAR in the first phase:
- Wednesday, October 19
18:15 FC Germanstadt – University of Craiova
21:00 UTA Arad – FCSB
- Thursday, October 20
18:15 Petrolul Ploiesti – Sepsi OSK
21:00 University of Cluj – CFR Cluj.
