According to STASY, at 14:00 on the same day, three new stations of the 3rd line of the metro “Maniatika”, “Piraeus” and “Municipal Theater” will be put into operation.
The change in the bus route scheme in the wider area will take effect from next Tuesday, October 11th.
According to the OASA, the redesign aims to make the road network compatible with the three new stations, and follows from previous interventions where the first three metro extension stations in Piraeus (Agia Varvara, Korydallos, Nicaea) were put into operation.

With the opening of Maniatika, Piraeus and City Theater stations, a daily increase in the total passenger traffic in the metro network by 132,000 passengers, a reduction in both passenger car traffic by 23,000 and a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 120 tons is expected. With the expansion of the metro network by 3.2 km, line 3 “Municipal Theatre-Dukissis Plakentias-Airport” now has 27 stations.
The frequency of routes to the Dukissis Placentia Municipal Theater during peak hours (07:30-11:00 and 13:30-17:30) remains at 4 minutes, and at night (22:00-00:20) is reduced to 9 minutes . from 10′ . On the Airport-Municipal Theater section, the frequency is 36 minutes.
The first route from the stations “Municipal Theater” and “Dukissis Placentia” will start at 05:30. The first flights will start at 05:30 from Egaleo and Monastiraki stations in the direction of Dukissis Plakentias and from the National Defense station in the direction of the Municipal Theatre. The last route (Monday to Thursday and Sunday) from the Municipal Theater will be at 23:59 and from Doukissis Placentias at 00:03. On Friday and Saturday, when the hours are extended, the last trains will depart at 01:06 from the Municipal Theater and at 01:10 from Doukissis Placentias. The last trains from Syntagma station in all directions will depart at 00:23 (Monday-Thursday and Sunday) and at 01:30 (Friday and Saturday).
Restructuring of bus lines in the OSY network
The transport network restructuring plan developed by OASA to interconnect the municipalities in the areas where the new metro stations “Maniatika”, “Piraeus”, “Municipal Theater” are located and to enable new interchanges is based on the strengthening and modification of bus lines. Line reconfiguration is divided into two stages:
In the first phase, with the start of operation of three new stations, direct interventions are envisaged, which will be evaluated after the first period of operation of the stations. Then, and within a reasonable time, the next stage of reconstruction will follow, which will include additional transport measures that will be required after the full operation of line 3, after assessing and analyzing the current situation in the city’s transport network. wider area
- Bus route 831 Egaleo-Piraeus is replenished with additional routes throughout the day.
- Bus line 810 Schistos-Korydallos will be converted into an access line to the Korydallos metro station and will connect to Petru Ralli Avenue.
- Bus route 830 Agia Varvara-Piraeus will be converted into an access line to Korydallos metro station.
- The bus line 846 Naples-Nicaea-Piraeus is being converted into an access line to the Nikaia metro station.
- Bus line 900, which was created over the past 2 years to cover the transitional period between the operation of the Korydallos and Nikaya metro stations and the 3 new Piraeus stations, is being phased out.
The start and end points of the existing bus lines remain the same.
