
In a hard-to-reach area, in a ravine on Mount Egaleo, police from the Athens sub-directorate of security discovered a plantation of hemp seedlings, and a 39-year-old Albanian was arrested on charges of violating drug laws.
According to EL.AS., information about a person involved in growing cannabis seedlings and trading in raw cannabis in large quantities was previously investigated. The identity of the accused is established, his criminal activity is confirmed.
After a search of his home, equipment used to plant and grow cannabis seedlings was found and seized. Then the plantation of hemp seedlings was also located on Mount Egaleo. In total, 177 seedlings up to 2 meters high were uprooted, and a car used to transport drugs was confiscated.
The detainee was taken to the prosecutor’s office in Athens.
