The mayor of the capital, Nikushor Dan, said on Wednesday on Profit News TV about what will happen this winter with the heat in the capital, that there will be failures in three, four, five years, but “in 10 years, during which I went from bad to from the worst, now we are going to the best, but the speed is not high enough,” reports News.ro.

“There is a relationship between the quality of the hot water service and how much water you lose. 10 years ago we were losing 23-24 percent, and now we have reached 37 percent. I inherited losses, 36 with a small one. (..) Starting in the fall, we will complete public procurement for 200 km of the network, in the fall there is time to make a project so that next year we will have 15 construction sites,” Nikushor Dan said.

The mayor of the capital noted: “The important thing is that we have progressed and are progressing faster, and we are coping with this problem.”

About what will happen until 2024, Nikusor Dan said that “it will be better.”

“The worst winter was 2020-2021, let me remind you that before Christmas we had a big accident, there was no hot water in sectors 2 and 3. It will be a little better in 2022-2223,” he said.

Asked if the people of Bucharest will remain in the cold, NikuĊĦor Dan said that “there will be breakdowns, like all winters.”

“After three, four, five years there will be breakdowns, our pipes are 50, 60 years old,” the mayor explained.
