Political scientist Teodor Paleologu said he felt humiliated as a Romanian in 2019 when he had to choose between Iohannis, Dencile, Barna and Diacona for the post of President of Romania, and stressed that he ran because he wanted to vote for someone he respected him. Paleologou added that the PNL was now an appendage of the PSD, and on an ironic note, he stated that the PNL would recover when he supported Theodore Paleologou.
Teodor Paleologu said on Saturday in the political show Insider on Prima TV that he does not want to be the president of Romania, writes news.ro.
“No, no, agree, I don’t consider myself a savior and I don’t even necessarily want to be the president. But in 2019, I felt humiliated as a Romanian when I had to choose between some… sorry, let’s use a good word, sub-mediocrity, that is, something worse. I find it terrible to choose between Yohannis, Denchile, Barna and Diakonu. Well, it was an honor for me to be Romanian. I mean, I want to be able to vote for someone I respect. Yes, that’s why I ran,” said Paleolog.
When asked if he plans to run for the presidency of Romania again, Paleologu explained that he is not considering it.
“I don’t take into account, the problem is to take into account more important aspects. Unfortunately, I don’t think the PNL will recover from this lethargy, in which we see it complacent being an adjunct to the PSD. I don’t think they will wake up to the moment when the PNL supports Theodore Paleologus. This means that this will be the moment when the PNL recovers, using the biblical formula, from the Gospel of Luke, from the prodigal son, will come to its senses. I don’t know if PNL will come to his senses and when he will come to me,” Paleologu said.
