Moldovan reel that he made and sold illegally anabolics and other pharmaceuticals in Greece and abroad were dismantled by the Economic Police Directorate in a major police operation yesterday involving Europol representatives in Maroussi and Glyfada. It is noted that, according to ELAS, the proceeds from the illegal activities of the criminal organization, as well as the total value of confiscated drugs, amount to tens of millions of euros.

During yesterday’s police operation, a 35-year-old citizen of Moldova was detained, against whom a criminal case was initiated on the facts of a criminal organization, forgery of documents, as well as violations of the legislation on money laundering and on amateur and professional sports. Five of his compatriots, members of a criminal organization, also appear in the filed case.

According to the Economic Police Directorate, the spiral has been in operation since 2015, and its methodology was as follows: its participants formed two cores of three people, in Attica and Thessaloniki, and they had other employees in Europe, the USA and Asia. . They produced anabolics in three warehouses in Attica and Thessaloniki, and purchased raw materials from Moldova and Bulgaria through a travel agency and courier companies.

Drugs were sold through websites operated by members of the organization, as well as through encrypted e-mail addresses. The defendants packed illegal drugs in parcels with indication of senders of non-existent persons and companies, transporting parcels by the organization’s vehicles and forwarding them through Greek courier companies, declaring false information about the sender.

At the same time, money transfer companies were used for payments, and the Hawala payment method was used for further distribution of criminal proceeds.

It is noted that the action of the spiral has spread abroad. In particular, in the USA, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Romania, Chile, Moldova, China, Israel, Lebanon, Colombia, Singapore, Ireland and Australia.

During searches conducted by the police in two warehouses – preparation rooms, according to ELAS, the following were found and seized: 2,473,000 units of illegal anabolic and other pharmaceutical drugs (ampoules – tablets – vials), production equipment and packaging items, 3 mobile phones , 2 laptops and lots of portable digital storage media, a car, parcels ready to ship, lots of bank documents, delivery receipts and handwritten notes.

The detainee with the materials of the case filed against him was taken to the competent prosecutor’s office and sent for the main interrogation.
