MedLife, the market leader in private healthcare services in Romania, announces the acquisition of a majority stake in the digital platform SanoPass, one of the most active Romanian medical technology startups, offering medical, wellness and fitness services on a subscription and individual basis.

The agreement marks the continuation of MedLife’s strategy to integrate and strengthen medical and wellness services, develop an integrated system of services for a healthy lifestyle through medical prevention, sports and nutrition.

The SanoPass digital platform unifies and facilitates access to health and fitness, offering access to more than 1,200 private clinics, both local and large chains, and more than 200 fitness gyms in Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Through this national network of partners, SanoPass provides health and fitness services to 50,000 subscribers.

After the completion of the transaction, SanoPass will remain an independent company and the management team will remain under the same formula, while founders Andrii Vasile and Delia Iliasha will continue their activities and development plans within SanoPass. In the next period, SanoPass aims to significantly expand the team and portfolio of customers and beneficiaries, the company serves both individual subscribers and corporate customers, mainly SMEs, which have from 10 to 250 employees. In addition, SanoPass cooperates with some of the strongest insurance companies in Romania, such as Generali, Metropolitan Life and NN.

According to company representatives, SanoPass has expanded significantly, registering more than 100,000 medical and fitness services provided in the first half of 2022. As an integrator of healthcare, medical prevention, wellness and fitness services, SanoPass unlocks significant cross-selling potential for partner medical clinics and fitness operators for the benefit of subscribers.
