President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed new heads of the SBU in Kherson and Chernihiv regions, Kyiv Independent reports.
Yevgeny Netyuylov was replaced by Oleksiy Lyakh, head of the SBU Department in the Chernihiv region. In Kherson Oblast, most of which remains under occupation, Artem Borysevich was appointed to replace Serhiy Kryvorutsko.
Serhiy Krivorutsko was fired for failing to protect the region from Russian troops at the start of a full-scale Russian invasion in February, at the same time as former SBU General Andriy Naumov, who helped the Russians seize the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Then the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced that two Ukrainian generals had been dismissed from their positions because they turned out to be traitors.
“Today another decision was made regarding anti-heroes – now I don’t have time to deal with all the traitors, but gradually they will all be punished. That is why the former head of the main department of internal security of the SBU Andriy Naumov of the Service of Ukraine and the former head of the SBU department in the Kherson region Serhiy Krivorutsko are no longer generals,” Zelenskyy said.
We will remind you that Volodymyr Zelenskyy replaced Ivan Bakanov as the head of the intelligence service and Iryna Venediktova as the Prosecutor General due to the fact that the officials of the departments headed by them are now working against Ukraine.
