One of the most popular artists of the moment, Inna told how she chooses her songs so that they have international success. “Sometimes I wonder why I was chosen for such success abroad. In Romania, I have many talented colleagues who work, maybe many of them work harder than me. This is without explanation. Yes I’m working! So is my colleague. Yes, I have a team! But so does my colleague.

I think I’m also a bit pretty when I look in the mirror, but so are a lot of my colleagues. I probably have a star on my forehead, as my grandmother also says,” the artist admitted in an interview with Radio Romania Actualitatî.

“I don’t know the recipe for success, but I will say that it helped me: having a very large team, being involved in the creative process, always being ready to change something, playing music that at some point in my life I did not even imagine that I would be performing, searching through very different musical styles and finding my passion.

I would be ready to sing, work and travel all over the world, even if I wasn’t paid, because I liked it,” said the artist.

Three conditions for achieving international success

“There are a few very simple things to do to make a song an international hit. It is very important for people to understand words, we all don’t know English, but that doesn’t mean you can’t understand when someone is expressing their feelings. Simple words that are easy to remember are popular with audiences in different countries. You have to be cat-like, restrain your words and not complicate them.

This will be the first condition. Second, there must be magic when the listener connects with the artist, that is, the person who introduces you to the words and the melody, and third, it is a team effort.

From morning to night, my team sends songs to the radio, makes the best moves so that my songs are well accompanied. It was very difficult for me to find people in my team, these are people who have been with me since the beginning of my career, they wanted more than me to become a successful artist and be part of this journey, and now I want Lucian, my manager

We are still looking for talented, passionate people to be part of my team, it is very difficult to find people to get along with, but it is not impossible because there are talented and hardworking people in Romania. Anyone who wants to be part of my team must have at least half the passion for music, social media and everything that is the life of an artist than I am, must be a very good person because my team is my family, they are my friends, I I talk a lot with them.

I really like fast people who always meet the deadline, because I, for my part, am a fast person. I really like to communicate with people, I make friends quickly. Some people recognize me on the street, some don’t. I believe that communication is my strong point.

I would give up celebrity any day if I was loved for the music I make. I couldn’t be that famous and still sing for an audience. Whether I’m singing for 100,000 people or 100 people, it’s the same for me, I have the same energy and the same happiness to be on stage.

The most expensive thing in the closet: a jacket for 4,500 euros

“I buy a lot of things, every week I buy something new, I like to dress differently and I am appreciated for my outfits. The most expensive thing I bought was a leather jacket with targets for which I paid 4,500 euros. Since then, I have learned to be smart and not pay so much attention to clothes.

You can write a hit for zero lei or pay a lot of money for a hit. To choose a good track, you have to go through a session where the best track wins. And to organize this session, you need to call a lot of producers who need to be paid – their service, accommodation, etc.

You can create a song with just a guitar and the song will become a worldwide hit. The matter is relative and depends on several factors. A matter of luck, but it must be backed up by work. My song “Iguana” was done at the table, my manager heard it and I released it without much expense. There are differences between audiences.

In Romania, the audience varies by city. More explosive are those in the city where there were no concerts for six months. Those who have more concerts react a little more calmly. Abroad, the reaction is the same if people listen to the same music and have the same energy from me,” Inna said.
