Romania, an extraordinary result at the Junior World Championship in Lima
Romania won eight medals at the World Championships in Lima:
- gold at the distance of 100 m freestyle (David Popovichi)
- gold at the distance of 200 m freestyle (David Popovichi)
- gold in women’s 50 m freestyle (Bianca Costea)
- gold in the men’s 4×100 m freestyle relay (David Popovici, Alexandru Constantinescu, Stefan Kozma and Patrick Sebastian Dinu)
- silver at the distance of 400 m freestyle among men (Vlad Stanku)
- silver in the 4×100 m freestyle medley relay (David Popovici, Patrick Sebastian Dinu, Bianca Costea and Rebecca Diaconescu)
- bronze medal in men’s 800 m freestyle (Vlad Stanku)
- bronze at the distance of 1500 m freestyle among men (Vlad Stanku).
