Kvitova (21st seed) won the match after two hours and 40 minutes of play with a score of 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(10).
After qualifying for the 1/8 finals of the US Open 2022, Petra said that she was inspired by the way Serena Williams saved five match points against Aila Tomljanovic (it was the last match of the American’s career).
