It is noted that the recorded laboratory-confirmed cases have already recovered or are recovering in general in good clinical condition.

Monkeypox is a viral infection first identified in 1958. Since then, it has been found in the tropical regions of West and Central Africa. It is transmitted through contact with wild animals and from person to person through close physical contact.

In May 2022, an increase in monkeypox cases was reported in non-endemic countries. In total, in Europe until August 30, 2022, 22,363 cases of the disease were registered in 43 countries.
