​David Popovici won the gold medal in the 200-meter freestyle at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Lima, Peru, on Thursday.

Our athlete stopped the chronometer at 1:46.18, this time was enough to win the world gold.

Popovich was followed by Hungarian Daniel Mesaros (1:48.98) and Italian Filippo Bertoni (1:49.05) on the podium.

David Popovich’s victory was clean, the difference with the next players in the rating was +02.80 (Mesaros) and +02.87 (Betoni).
