According to Romania Sotheby’s International Realty, the 11-room, two-bathroom Dărăscu-Enigărescu Castle in Viforata, built between 1890 and 1910, is for sale for €210,000.

Darescu-Enigarescu Castle was built on the north-western top of the Tirgovishte hills, on the access road to Viforata Monastery, and was completed by order of the Darescu family in 1910, 20 years after construction began.

With a blurred history, the property will avoid nationalization, even though it was at one point the location of the local CAP, having been owned by Octave Enigarescu between 1975-1977.

A personality of great culture, baritone, radio presenter, actor, vocal teacher and director of the Bucharest Opera (1969-1971), Octave Enigerescu immediately appreciated the architectural qualities of the small castle.

The building, located on a terrace structure, rises on two levels and also presents a high basement that extends over the entire area of the building.

The focal point of the residence is definitely the shape of the central tower, which resembles the typology of a medieval fortress, thus the structure of the rooms is influenced by the circular shape.

In 1988, the Enigarescu family, which maintains the castle, strengthened the structure with steel beams.

The object has an area of 4450 square meters.
