The head of Ukrainian diplomacy, Dmytro Kuleba, wrote on Twitter on Sunday that the Russian army turned the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant into a military base, thus putting the entire continent at risk, News.ro reports with reference to Ukrinform.
“Nuclear safety has been a priority for Ukraine for decades, especially given our tragic past. The Russian occupiers have turned the Zaporizhzhya NPP into a military base and are endangering the entire continent. The Russian army must leave this plant. He has nothing to do there,” Kuleba wrote.
Ukrinform notes that the Russian army occupied the nuclear power plant on March 4 and since then has been taking military equipment and ammunition there, as well as opening fire on nearby territories.
For decades, nuclear security has remained a top priority for Ukraine, especially given our tragic past. The Russian occupiers turned the Zaporizhzhya NPP into a military base, putting the entire continent at risk. The Russian military must leave the factory – they have nothing to do there!
