
In just 15 minutes, the site for receiving applications for its third round was closed Northern Evia – Samos Passwith sell-out vacation vouchers in the two affected areas.
Access to the vouchers.gov.gr platform is no longer allowed.
It is noted that the fourth and final phase of the program will follow, for which the application period will be set from September 26, 2022 to October 10, 2022, and intangible digital debit cards can be used until the 31st. October.
According to available data, the first two stages of North Evia – Samos Pass in total have been allocated more than 2.3 million euros. Specifically:
- for North Evia, 9,874 cards were stored in beneficiaries’ digital wallets and 8,426 cards were debited in at least one transaction,
- for Samos, 5,261 cards were added to recipients’ digital wallets and 4,799 of them were charged for at least one transaction.
Beneficiaries
It is recalled that the total budget of the campaign is 6 million euros, and thanks to it, about 32,000 beneficiaries will be able to issue an intangible digital debit card as an incentive to visit the two regions, stimulating local tourism.
The Northern Evia Pass – Samos does not have an income criterion and, therefore, those citizens who:
- are tax residents of Greece according to their tax return for the 2020 tax year, and
- are not beneficiaries in the context of:
- Social tourism programs for the period 2021-2022,
- social tourism programs DYPA 2022 and the action “Tourism for all” of the Ministry of Tourism or
- the corresponding provision from any other authority for the same period of time.
It is clarified that for persons who are married or entered into a cohabitation agreement before the 2020 tax year, the beneficiary is the person who is required to file a tax return, or one of the two, in the case of a separate declaration.
The Northern Evia-Samos Pass can be used exclusively either by the recipient himself to cover the costs of local transport, food or accommodation, or by persons designated by his “beneficiaries”, namely:
- his adult children who are declared dependents on the personal income tax return for the 2020 tax year, or
- the spouse of the beneficiary or the person who has entered into a cohabitation agreement with him.
It is clarified that permanent residents of the regions cannot use an intangible digital debit card at their place of residence. Thus, permanent residents of North Evia can apply for the North Evia – Samos Pass with only Samos as their destination and vice versa.
