OUR Johnny Depp returns to the big screen.
French public film company Why Not Productions and French television have released the first photo of Depp in his new role as King Ludovic I.E. on social media.
The historical drama film The Favorite tells the story of the last mistress of the King of France, Madame du Barry (Jeanne du Barry), who, born poor, manages to rise in society by using her intellect to become the king’s favorite companion. Louis XV, according to Deadline.
Next to Depp will be the French actress Isilda Le Besco, who will play Madame Dubarry, the famous mistress of Louis.
Filming began last month at several locations in France, such as the Château de Versailles or Paris, and will run for three months.
The film will also feature Benjamin Laverne, Pierre Richard, Melville Poupot, Noemi Lvovsky, Pascal Greggory and India Volos. The film, directed by Maiven Le Besco, is expected to be released in French cinemas in 2023.
