Good image this year tourist season this is also reflected in sales revenues from major archaeological sites, which rival and sometimes exceed 2019 revenues. As the data shows, among the items sold are small and inexpensive souvenirs such as magnets, which were not available in YPPOA sales offices in previous years.

The highest income for July was recorded by a store at the archaeological site of Knossos. Fund of the Month closed with €61,500 in revenue, up from €50,000 in July 2019. The sales office at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum showed an increase in revenue of 31,500 euros compared to 23,200 euros in 2019, while sales revenue from Mycenae (+31%).Archaeological sites: Bull of Knossos for... refrigerator-1

Sales at the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus showed a downward trend in July, about 15% compared to July 2019, partly due to a decrease in attendance at the Athens Festival performances this year (K, 7/8). /2022). The 27% decline in revenue was also shown by the ancient Olympia store, which is currently located inside the museum. ODAP officials noticed that foreign visitors, especially those arriving on cruise ships, often failed to enter the museum and shop after visiting the archaeological site. That is why one of the new points of sale, which will be presented by the organization, will be located next to the archaeological site.

However, this year they closed the month. with revenues of €30,200 (EAM) and €22,100 (Acropolis).

“A large arrival of tourists has been observed since mid-July, so we expect that in August and September we will have even more income,” said Alexandra Goritatova, a member of the board of directors, to K. ODAP and is responsible for the organization’s sales. It also underlines the great efforts of ODAP to acquire a new corporate identity called “Greek Heritage” and delicious products of all kinds and for all tastes.

The latter is expressed in our famous magnets and the creation of 140 different items covering 50 archaeological sites. The idea may seem unimpressive, but 40,000 units have been sold in the last year, generating €69,500 in revenue. Visitor preferences are followed by stationery with a revenue of 37,000 euros and goods for children with a revenue of 91,500 euros.

We will get a more complete picture in early autumn, and, of course, according to our estimates, revenues will increase even more when the long-awaited online store of the organization starts working.
