Another case of electronic fraud by a businessman who trusted cunning people and lost thousands of euros was recorded in Crete.
The reason is a 59-year-old man who runs a car rental office in the center of Heraklion. As he later told the police, he received a call from an unknown person who introduced himself as a client and said that he wanted to rent a car. To pay the advance, he sent the businessman a hyperlink, from whom he then asked for a confirmation code sent to him by the bank on his mobile phone.
The unsuspecting businessman followed the steps given by the stranger and saw a total of 12,000 euros disappear from his two bank accounts with five different transactions. Now he hopes that the police will be able to track down the attacker and handcuff him.
