The alleged perpetrator of the murder, according to the Ministry of Citizens’ Protection, was discovered yesterday afternoon outside Skopje by the police of the neighboring country, as he was also wanted there after contacts between the Greek police and the police authorities of the Balkans. countries after information that the young man intended to cross the northern borders of the country.

In particular, according to the ministry, from the first moment when it became known about the horrific murder of 17-year-old Nikoleta, by the forces of EL.AS. were alerted to the whereabouts of the perpetrator in Attica and throughout the country.

Competent services collected information about his movements, according to which he went to Northern Greece with the aim of fleeing to the countries of Central Europe.

The police authorities of Northern Greece immediately contacted the relevant services of the Balkan countries, and constant and close cooperation was established, while control at border crossings was strengthened.

As a result of increased surveillance yesterday afternoon, a group of irregular immigrants was identified in North Macedonia, which was also found to contain the presence of the alleged perpetrator of the heinous murder of Pakistani origin.

The countdown to the wanted Pakistani man’s arrest began when his mobile signal was detected in northern Greece, according to Ministry of Civil Protection sources.

The police considered it credible that he intended to leave the country by crossing the northern border, for this reason the message and his photo were sent to all services, as well as to the authorities of neighboring countries and especially North Macedonia.

At some point, the 21-year-old turned off his mobile phone and the signal disappeared.

However, he took with him the mobile phone of 17-year-old Nikoleta, which he opened as soon as he crossed the territory of North Macedonia.

The girl’s badge was discovered immediately, and authorities in a neighboring country soon found its owner among a group of illegal immigrants and arrested him.

The 21-year-old man surrendered to the Greek police and was transferred to the Attica security service, from where he will be taken to the competent prosecutor at noon today.

Regarding the case, Citizens’ Protection Minister Takis Theodorikakos, in a social media post, referred to the case:

“The alleged perpetrator of the murder of seventeen-year-old Nikoleta in Athens is now in the hands of the Greek police and will be taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.”
