Application installation process

Installing and using the application is simple.

The Gov.gr wallet is already available in the iOS and Android software app stores and its use will be possible in parts according to the last digit of the citizen’s TIN, starting today with the number 1, on Thursday 2 and so on. .. In addition, citizens can download the application through the wallet.gov.gr page. To securely access the application, the citizen is first identified using codes on Taxisnet, and then by entering a one-time password (OTP – One Time Password), which is sent to the mobile phone number, whose ownership is confirmed by the citizen. After entering the application environment, a citizen can create and save a digital copy of his identity card and / or driver’s license in a few clicks. First, he chooses which document he wants to issue, and then receives a one-time password (OTP – One Time Password) via SMS, which he enters into the application. Immediately after that, the document is created and saved in the application and in the mobile phone wallet. The same process is repeated again for each new version of the copy.

The digital copies of the Gov.gr wallet include all the information contained in police ID cards and driver’s licenses respectively. They also include a QR code and a unique document code that verifies their authenticity. In particular, with regard to the digital copy of the driver’s license, the photo to be displayed is taken from the Greek Police Police Identity Registry, so it will be the same as that of the Police Identity Card and not necessarily the same as that of the Police Identity Card. that from the driver’s license.

The authenticity of each digital copy is confirmed by its QR code. As soon as someone scans a citizen’s QR code through the same Gov.gr Wallet app, the latter receives a notification from the app to give consent to the controller to verify their information. After the citizen approves the check, a six-digit code appears on the application screen, which he must dictate or show to the verifier, who, in turn, enters it on his device. After the process is completed, then and only then the digital copy of the data is displayed once and only on the controller device, without the possibility of saving.

The citizen has the option to select the quick check feature (quick scan) at any time. Through this specific feature, the citizen essentially grants “pre-authorization” for the next and only check if it occurs exclusively within the next five minutes. By displaying a quick scan QR code, verification is faster as the verifier has direct access to the citizen’s data. Thus, the citizen can be served more directly, especially in cases where there is a congestion or speed is required, for example, for example. entrance to concerts, planes, etc.

Finally, through the Gov.gr wallet, a citizen can sign documents faster and more securely through docs.gov.gr. In particular, if a citizen has installed the application on his mobile phone and saved his police ticket, he will be able to choose and approve the issuance of a digital document through the application instead of receiving a one-time code (OTP – One Time) using an SMS password).

If a citizen reports the loss of his police card in person at the police station or through gov.gr, then automatically and immediately any digital copy issued will be cancelled. The same applies if a citizen reports the loss of a driver’s license at a police station, at the CEP or at the Department of Transportation of the respective region.

Where a new identity card or a new driver’s license is not issued due to loss, the digital copies of the old physical certificates are automatically canceled and the digital copies of the new certificates must be issued following the same procedure as their originals. problem.

In case of loss of the device on which digital copies are stored, a citizen can revoke the validity of stored digital copies through the appropriate service on gov.gr. Revoking physical copies does not invalidate the corresponding physical certificates.
