We had two years to hear from him. John Cale, so in 2020 he released the single “Lazy Day” but he also collaborated with Kelly Lee Owens on her track “Corner Of My Sky”.
Now John Cale is looking back at the 70s and releasing his new track. “Night crawl”.
In his new track, the Welsh musician recalls the moments he shared with him. David Bowie in the 70s and the Big Apple.
As he himself says: “There was a period in the mid-70s when David and I met in New York. There was a lot of talk about working on something, but we ended up going back and forth, sometimes until we could get our heads together, let alone write a song.”
Cale even shared a story from that time: “We got to meet one night at a benefit concert where I taught him the viola parts so we could play together. When I wrote “Night Crawling” it was a moment of reflection on a particular era. A New York holding art in its hands, strong enough to be safe and dangerous enough to keep interesting. I always thought that we would have a second chance to record together, this time without going out of our minds all the time.”
“Night Crawler” also comes with a hand-drawn animated video clip. mickey Miles, in which… we also see David Bowie.
