In the spring, several SpaceX employees were “put on the wall” for helping to write and distribute an open letter criticizing Elon Musk for his Twitter activity and posts that were deemed “harmful” to the company.

About 20 staff members were called to a meeting in June and the vice president criticized them for the letter, calling it an “extremist act.” People were told they were being fired for taking on Elon Musk and undermining the company’s atmosphere. “SpaceX is Elon and Elon is SpaceX,” people were told, the idea being that Elon Musk could do almost anything he wanted.

Dismissed employees filed complaints with the National Council on Labor Relations.

These events are further evidence that Elon Musk’s leadership style is aggressive, as even at Tesla Musk is known to have mistreated some employees. The most recent examples are related to the takeover of Twitter, where in 10 days he changed a lot and ordered half of the employees to resign.
