Thibaut Courtois will no longer play for Real Madrid this season – the goalkeeper suffered a torn meniscus
Courtois left the final training session in tears and caused general dismay in the Real Madrid camp.
The Belgian goalkeeper has been busy in recent weeks preparing for his return to action after suffering an injury in August, and coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed he is back in the squad.
During training, Thibaut Courtois felt a crack and feared a recurrence of his old medical problem, but the first tests showed otherwise.
After tearing the cruciate ligaments in his left knee, the goalkeeper suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee, reports Marca.
Although Ancelotti planned to introduce him after the break for the national team, Courtois will miss the rest of the season and will continue to rely on Lunin next term.
