Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Bucharest Court arrested 16 suspects on Thursday in the case of the use of prohibited materials during the matches of the football team “Rapid”. Among those detained is Georgian Liviu Unguryan, known as Bocchu, the head of the team’s gallery.
Also, the suspect in the case of the president of FC Rapid, Daniel Nikulae, who was grabbed by masked men on Thursday morning and taken to the hearing, was not detained.

The prosecutor’s office found a room inside the stadium where pyrotechnic materials were hidden.
“According to the results of the pyrotechnic control carried out on 10/29/2023 on the North Lawn, precinct 119-120, in the sanitary room intended for men, in an empty place under the lawn, 4 bags with 371 pyrotechnic products (firecrackers, smoke detectors, torches) were found. black overalls and polyethylene masks were found,” the prosecutors showed.

Rapid FC president Daniel Nikulae was abducted by masked men on Thursday morning, Giulești majority shareholder Dan Shucu announced, and according to some judicial sources, Nikulae has suspect status.

In addition, several raids took place on Thursday in Bucharest, Prahov, Ilfov against members of the Rapid gallery, judicial sources said. Later, the capital police reported that 19 searches had taken place, and 28 people should be brought to the meeting. The charges in this case are the creation of an organized criminal group, destruction by arson, violation of public order by violence against property, any operations with unauthorized pyrotechnic products.
