Vlad Stanku missed qualifying in the final of the 800-meter freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Doha, our athlete showed the 31st time in the series.

Stanku finished last in the fourth race with a time of 8:06.50.

The student of trainer Yulia Beheru became the 31st and at a distance of 400 m freestyle.

Vlad will also swim in the 1500 m freestyle at the World Championships in Doha.

Romania has five representatives in the swimming competition at the World Swimming Championships in Doha: Vlad Stancu, Denis Popescu, Andrej Angel, Robert Badea and Patrick Dinu.

In October 2023, coach Adrian Redulescu announced this David Popovich will not participate in the World Championship in Doha. The main goal of a swimmer is to get to the Olympic Games in Paris.
