The athlete, who is ranked 49th in the WTA hierarchy, was decisively defeated by Sarah Errani (98th WTA), after a match that lasted 61 minutes.
2012 Roland Garros finalist Sara Errani crushed her opponent 6-0 in the first set before dropping just one game in the second set.
In the quarters, Errani will meet the winner of the duel between Camila Osorio (101 WTA) and Karolina Pliskova (78 WTA).
Transylvania Open will be held from February 5 to 11 in Cluj-Napoca. The tournament is held on closed hard, is part of the WTA 250 category and has a total prize pool of $267,082.
