Lietkabekis – U-BT Cluj-Napoca 92-87, in the Eurocup groups

Champions U-BT Cluj-Napoca suffered an away defeat to Lithuanian side Lietkabelis Panevezys on Wednesday, but advanced to the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time.

Mihai Silvasan’s side lost their final group game 92-87, but took advantage of Gran Canaria’s 90-77 loss to the Futures.

U-BT Cluj-Napoca is the first team from Romania to pass the group stage.

From group B, the leader JL Bourg with 14 wins and 4 losses plus U BT Cluj (13/5) advanced to the quarter-finals directly, and the opponents will be known after the play-off games, the news reports. ro.
