On Sunday, Ocelul made a statement in which he defended Dorinel Muntiana and emphasized that there were several controversial refereeing moments in the match with Rapid.

“SC Oțelul Galaţi notes with bitterness that Romanian football fans, a phenomenon we are proud to be a part of, overserved a certain topic for at least twelve hours, namely the statement of our team coach Dorinel Munteanu at the end of the game with FC Rapid 1923, thus the emphasis was dismissed for officiating in a game the home team won 2-1.

We want the public to understand that Mr. Munteanu, who used a derogatory term that can be attributed various connotations, did not intend to make racist remarks and deeply disapproves of discriminatory behavior of any kind.

Moreover, to say that “Dorinel insulted the fans of Rapid” is a distortion of the “hot” reaction, our coach clearly notes that the fans of the club from Giulesti, with their special fanaticism, form an admirable mass of football lovers. The attitude of the small group located above the technical bench of the Steel, people who insulted him throughout the match, pouring various liquids on the staff and our reserve players, cannot be extrapolated to the entire impact of the rapidist. And Dorinel knows, as the club “Rapid” also noted in the press release, that in 134 matches played in the shirt of the national team of Romania, he felt the heartbeat of all fans in the country and beyond: rapidists, steles, dynamists, etc. .

Unfortunately, the statement of our technical manager had a place in the analysis of the match itself.
