Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe announced a new transfer on Wednesday in a bid to avoid missing out on a place in the play-offs. Andres Dumitrescu, who was sold to Slavia Prague in the summer for 1 million euros, returned to the Super League on loan.

Sepsi rented Andres Petrescu – the defender did not impress in Slavia Prague

After three years at Sfantu Gheorghe, where he won two Cups and two Romanian Super Cups, Andres Dumitrescu moved to Slavia Prague for €1m in September.

With just eight appearances for the Czechs in the league and European competitions, the left-back lost contact with the national team and Sepsi secured his loan until the end of the season.

“Andres Dumitrescu has returned to Sepsi OSK after being part of the Slavia Praga team in recent months.

According to the agreement between the two clubs, the 22-year-old defender will join our team on loan until June 21, 2024,” the club announced on social media.

An international with seven under-21 caps, Dumitrescu is valued at €850,000.
