Daniil Medvedev reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open 2024, beating the Russian after a spectacular match against Hubert Gurkach (9 favourites), in five sets. The match at Rod Laver Arena lasted three hours and 59 minutes, the score was 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.

Two strong players (with strong serves), Daniil and Hubert gave the audience a match with everything: a lot of aces, enough double faults, 104 winning shots (in total), 97 unforced errors and a match with turns.

It took five sets to determine the winner, and the match “mentally and physically exhausted” Medvedev, as the third favorite admitted at the end of the match.
