Thursday at the Australian Open ended with a spectacular match, which ended with the victory of the third favorite Danilo Medvedev against the Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (53 ATP).

Daniil Medvedev, sensational victory after leading 2-0

A two-time Australian Open finalist in 2021 and 2022, Medvedev narrowly defeated Ruusuvuori, 3-6, 6(1)-7, 6-4, 7-6(1), 6-0.

After the first set, which was easily won by the Finn, the second went to a tie-break, where Ruusuvuori gave the Russian a decisive score of 7-1.

The game changed completely and Medvedev made a great comeback to win the next two sets, the last also in a tiebreak.

The decider was scoreless, 6-0, and the game ended after four hours and 21 minutes.
