Andy Murray says he probably won’t play at the Australian Open again
A five-time finalist (2010, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016), Murray was defeated in three sets by Thomas Martin Etcheverry (32 ATP, 30 F) 6-4, 6-2, 6-2.
After the match, which lasted two hours and 23 minutes, Andy (44 ATP) said it was likely to be his last Grand Slam appearance in Melbourne.
36-year-old Andy Murray is a former leader of the ATP and has three Grand Slam titles (US Open 2012, Wimbledon 2013 and 2016).
Argentina’s Etcheverry will play Gael Monfils (76 ATP) in the second round after the Frenchman outlasted Germany’s Yannick Hanfmann (52 ATP) 6-4, 6-3, 7-5.
