
Romania’s Alexandra Predescu won the bronze medal at the second stage of the Saber World Cup in Berlin on Sunday, losing to Alexandra Eller in the semi-finals.
Alexandra Predescu, an athlete registered with CSA Steaua Bucharest, competed in Berlin along with five other tricolor fencers.
Oleksandra left the group with four wins in six matches played. She qualified at the preliminary table of 128, where she defeated Konstanze Grabher (Austria), 15-8.
In the main draw, Alexandra Predescu beat Patritsia Proksikova (Czech Republic) 15-11 (first round); Alessia Pizzini (Italy) with 15-13 (16); Emilia Rossatti (Italy) with 12-10 (eighth) and Noemi Meshlin (Switzerland) with 15-10 (quarters), losing in the semi-finals to Alexandra Eller (Germany) with 8-15, News.ro reports.
Oleksandra took third place, winning the bronze medal of the competition.
