The Brazilian Football Federation wanted Carlo Ancelotti for the position of coach. However, the Italian has extended his contract with Real Madrid and there have been recent speculations that Jose Mourinho could take the position.

Jose Mourinho says he has not spoken to the Brazilian Football Federation about becoming a coach

The coach of the Lusitanians still has a contract with Roma until June 30, 2024, and the extension of the deal is currently on hold.

The Seleção have been looking for a coach for some time, with Jose Mourinho being the latest name to be considered.

Responding to questions about these rumors at the press conference, “Osbylyvy” replied that he had not been contacted by any official representative of the Brazilian Football Federation.

In addition, the Portuguese said that he was only thinking about Roma and informed his agent about it.

“I am 100% confident in the owners of the club (without Roma). I always told them how many times I had an offer: from Portugal or from the Saudi club that contacted me last summer,” Mourinho said.

Roma is in seventh place in the hierarchy of Serie A with 28 points. Mourinho’s side are five points behind bottom-placed Fiorentina heading into next season’s Champions League.

Currently, the Brazilian national team is headed by Fernando Dinis (acting), and it is not going through the best period.

We will remind, “Seleção” occupies the 6th place in the preliminary matches of the World Cup-2026.

The Brazilians have scored only 7 points from six games. The leader of Argentina already has 15 points.
