Mihai Silvasan became the new coach of the national men’s basketball team of Romania.

The information was confirmed by the Board of Directors of the Romanian Basketball Federation, the decision was made based on the results of the vote.

After a very good career on the bench of U-Banca Transilvania Cluj-Napoca, Silvasan got a chance to coach the national team.

He will make his debut on the bench in February when Romania play Luxembourg in a preliminary qualifier for the 2027 FIFA World Cup, according to Agerpres.

“This is a big challenge for me! I have never given up my presence as a player in the national team and I will not give up as a coach either.

Everything happened very quickly, there are still many aspects that need to be discussed and settled regarding the strategy and conditions in which the national team’s activities will be carried out.

I am honored and thank everyone who believes in me!” Mihai Silvashan reported.
