
The small final of the 2023 Women’s World Handball Championship was decided by one goal. Denmark won the bronze medal after 28-27 (18-15) with Sweden.

After losing in the semi-finals, also by one goal to Norway, former rivals Romania prevailed and finished on the podium of the Women’s World Handball Championship.
Although they controlled the game in the first half, the Danes did not lead by more than four goals and it was 18-15 at the break.
In the second half, the Swedes came back, who recovered brilliantly and kept the draw until the last minutes.
Denmark, the 1997 world champion, won its fourth bronze medal, after those won in 1995, 2013 and 2021.
It is the second time Sweden has finished fourth at the Women’s Handball World Cup, having lost to the Netherlands in the minor final in 2017.

France and Norway will meet in the grand final of the Women’s World Handball Championship on Sunday at 20:00.
