CSA Steaua’s good run of three wins and a draw was interrupted on Thursday after Corvinul Hunedoara won 1-0 at Ghencea in the 15th round of the second division.

CSA Steaua may miss the playoffs before the winter break

The second division championship runs its final stage in 2023 and a CSA failure by Steaua could leave them out of the top six.

At the end of a balanced game, Corvinul Hunedoara won on the edge, thanks to a goal scored after a mistake by the goalkeeper.

In the 48th minute, Velisar crossed from the left, Frankulescu unsuccessfully got under the ball, which Marius Lupu headed into the goal.

The result puts Hunedoers in second place in the standings with 31 points, while Steaua is in sixth place with 22 points.

After the winter break, the final four stages of the regular season will be played, followed by playoff and playoff games.
