Fluminense (Brazil) won the Copa Libertadores for the first time, defeating Boca Juniors (Argentina) 2-1 (after extra time) in the final held at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

Fluminense opened the score with an Argentinian: at the age of 35, the German Cano (’36) scored his 13th goal in this tournament.

“Boka” took the match to extra time, equalizing the score with Peruvian Luis Advincula (’73).

After coming on in the 80th minute, John Kennedy scored the winning goal in the 99th minute and received a second yellow card for celebrating too much with the fans.

Frank Fabra (‘105+7) was eliminated from Boca after the Colombian slapped Nino.

Football players who wrote the history of European football were also on the field: Edinson Cavani played for Boca and Marcelo for Fluminense.
