The surprises of the day continued at the French Masters in the second round. After the elimination of Danylo Medvedev, it was the turn of the Norwegian Casper Ruud (8 ATP) to leave the tournament in Paris.

Casper Ruud knocked out by Francisco Cerundolo in the second round of ATP Paris

Fracisco Cerundolo had a great match to beat Casper Ruud in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4.

After a good start, the Argentinian Ruud came back and took the lead, making it three wins in a row.

The set appeared to be headed for a tie-break, but Serundolo prevailed in a landslide. Although the second set was more balanced than the first, there was a surprise and Casper Ruud, the number 8 in Paris, also left the tournament.

The game lasted a little over an hour and a half.

In the round of 16, Francisco Cerundolo will meet Hubert Hurkacz (11 ATP) from Poland.

At the moment, the main favorites for the ATP Paris Masters tournament are Novak Djokovic and Yannick Sinner.

The Rolex Paris Masters tournament runs from October 30 to November 5 on an indoor hard court. It has a total prize pool of €5,779,335 and the championship title is Holger Rune (2022). The competition at the Accor Arena in Bersa is part of the ATP Masters 1000 category.
