On Wednesday, the “King” welcomed representatives of the “Galatasaray” club to the headquarters of the Academy, who wanted to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.
Hagi received from the club a commemorative plaque and a T-shirt with the signatures of the players of the uniform in which he made history.
Transferred by the Turks from Barcelona in 1996, Gike Hagi was Galatasaray’s best player for five years, making 132 appearances in which he scored 59 goals.
During this period, he won four titles, two Cups, two Super Cups, the UEFA Cup and the European Super Cup.
Gheorghe Hagi prepared his Istanbul squad twice and managed to win the new Turkish Cup.
