Ons Jaber supports Palestine and says he wants the war to end

There were pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Tunisia, and Ons Jaber posted on Instagram two weeks ago.

“What the Palestinians have gone through in the last 75 years cannot be described. What innocent civilians are going through cannot be described; regardless of their religion or background. We all want to achieve peace. Peace is all we need and deserve. Stop the violence! Free Palestine!” he wrote at the time Ons Jaber.

The Israeli Tennis Federation, through its president Avi Pertz, condemned the Tunisian’s claims and filed an official complaint with the WTA.

“This tennis player incites and supports a criminal terrorist organization. We are glad that she is in the minority compared to healthy athletes in the rest of the world” – Avi Pertz, ITA President.

Jaber believes he “didn’t say anything wrong” and said he wanted the war to end.

“What I wrote in my Instagram post is what I stand for and what I believe in the most is peace. I feel so sad for the innocent people who are being killed every day and I want the world to act and put an end to this war.

They filed a complaint with the WTA and I know they told me about it. But I didn’t say anything bad. I just shared my opinion and followed the rules. I was really surprised they complained. I don’t even know why. My message was peaceful” – Ons Jaber for The National.

Ons Jabert suffered a heavy defeat in the first match of the Tournament of Champions 2023: 0-6, 1-6 against Coco Gauff.
