Florian Wirtz, the player for whom all of Europe is fighting

At 20 years old, Florian Wirtz is one of Xabi Alonso’s most important players at Bayer Leverkusen, and his chances of staying with the team next season are diminishing as time goes by.

Barcelona have been monitoring the right-footed attacking midfielder for at least two years, but the Catalans stopped short of signing him after he suffered a serious injury in the 2021/22 season.

However, the Spanish champions did not lose interest in the player, who has a goal and 3 assists in the current Bundesliga season, Manchester City was also interested in the German’s services.

Despite initially being a two-way race, Barcelona and Manchester City have been overshadowed by German champions Bayern Munich, who are ready to offer €100 million for Wirtz’s services, as Leverkusen officials want, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Florian Wirtz made his debut in the German national team from September 2021 and has collected 11 tackles to date, even playing in the last friendly match of the Germans against the USA (3-1).

113 matches, 26 goals and 34 assists – these are the numbers of Wirtz in “Bayer”.
