
The Romanian national handball team won its second consecutive victory on Saturday in the qualification group of the European Championship 2024. Our girls confidently defeated Greece with a score of 32-20.
Romania, decisive victory over Greece
After the emphatic victory won in the dispute with Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a score of 49-17, the Romanian handball team also won away from Kozani, in a match with Greece, with a score of 32-20.
The national team, coached by Florentin Pera, controlled the match from end to end, although it developed without captain Cristina Nyagu, who is undergoing rehabilitation treatment after suffering knee inflammation.
With Saturday’s victory, Romania climbed to the top of Group 1, level with Croatia.

What you need to know about Euro 2024 in women’s handball
- It will take place from November 28 to December 15, 2024.
- The hosts of the final European tournament are Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
- The host cities will be Basel (St. Jakobshalle – 12,400 seats), Innsbruck (Olympiahalle – 8,000 seats), Vienna (Wiener Stadthalle – 12,000 seats) and Debrecen (Fonix Hall – 6,500 seats).
- A total of 24 national teams will take part.
4 national teams have already qualified: Norway (champion of 2022), Austria, Hungary and Switzerland from the host position.
